Freefly Alta 8
Filming at Parc Zoo de Beauval in the new giant tropical Biodôme, which will be open to the public in 2020. Indeed, we have been commissioned to film the Biodôme before the birds are introduced, it will be the only drone flight to inside the Biodôme. For this aerial shooting performance, we used a Freefly Alta 8 equipped with a Movi Pro Freefly and another DJI Inspire 2 drone. Why did you choose two different drones? The DJI Inspire 2 is used in the Biodôme to make “classic” shots images with differents lenses, an ultra wide angle 7mm and longer focal lengths 45mm etc …

We also flew our Freefly Alta 8 equipped with its Movi Pro and a GH4 to make shots against the surface. This drone performance was not easy at flyover level because the interior temperature was around 30 degrees celcius with a very high humidity and in these winter months the transfer of material from outside to inside the Biodôme generated a thermal shock on the material, it was necessary to wait a little before the objectives, cameras and drone acclimate. This day of shooting is a success for our team and we are very happy to have been involved in this beautiful project.
